Aloo Gobi Matar is a basic Indian dish eaten regularly by the North Indians and Punjabis, especially in winter when cauliflowers are in season.
Ingredients:
1/2 kg Potatoes
1 medium size Cauliflower
1/4 kg Peas
1 Onion (chopped)
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
1/2 tsp Garam Masala
1/4 tsp. Mustard seeds or Cumin seeds
Oil for cooking
Salt to taste
Cilantro for garnish
Method:
- Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds/jeera. Saute the onions till brown.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and other masalas and roast for a minute.
- Now add in the potatoes, cauliflower, peas and salt and cook on medium heat till done. (You can add tomatoes to make a gravy)
- Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rotis/paranthas/rice.
